5 killed in road accident in Phetchaburi

PHETCHABURI: -- Five were killed when a pick-up truck rushing a man who committed attempted suicide, crashed into a tree Wednesday night.

The man, Muen Timmek, 67 who made attempted suicide, was killed along with four relatives in the accident on a road in Thayang district at 9 pm.

A nine-year-old boy, Sarawut Pimsorn, was the only survival in the accident. He was admitted to the district hospital with stable condition.

Muen's wife, Kae Timmek, 66, was killed along with him.

Their relatives told police that Muen drank pesticide following a quarrel with his wife so the wife and other relatives rushed him to the Thayang hospital.

But the driver lost control of the truck and crashed into a tree.

Other victims were identified as Wanna Timmek, 41, Maprang Timmek, 36 and Nitikorn Wongsing.
