Obama's Nuclear Strategy

Featured Replies

2. As soon as no one has nuclear weapons, then eveyone will race to build the next one and be first. You think NK, Iran and others want one now, just wait until the US, China, Russia, France, UK, Israel, etc don't have one. The first country to possess a nuclear weapon the 2nd time around will be top dog.

Hey hey hey Koheesti, you should have a talk with Lieutenant Chuck D who was personally involved with agreements supplying defensive weapons ( Maybe like cluster bombs, bunker busters and DU munitions). But has no idea if Israel has nukulaar bombs or has the capacity to produce them.

You also forgot to mention India, Pakistan and North Korea (Alleged) by the way....to have some.

I believe Israel has them. I have no proof but they are smart enough to acquire them and smart enough to keep it a secret. Too bad Obama doesn't have the same smarts. There is no need to tell enemies or anyone else what we will or will not do. If ever asked what the US would do in the event of an attack Obama should give the short answer, "Whatever is it, trust me, you won't like it".

You believe based on what Kohee.

Please consult your buddy Chuck D

And yes I have some clearance level.

Chuck is just another piece in the game of geopolitical chess, although he will never agree, it is just another game.

Because, unlike their neighbors, Israeli Jews are highly educated and competent. I doubt the technology would be much of a challenge for them if they were motivated - and being surrounded and greatly out-numbered by nations wanting your destruction is about as motivating as it gets.

Another baseless delusion from one of the "enlightened" ones. :)

Actually, venturalaw is refering to terrorism against American citizens and interests abroad..., but you already knew that. :D

yeah right! that's what Venturalaw meant. that's why he deems it necessary to keep nukes galore to use against terrorists who target american citizens abroad.

quote: "Cannot agree that the U.S. reducing the number of its tactical warheads is 'great'. It merely weakens the defenses of a country that is becoming more and more a popular target."

next intelligent comment please :D

Given your extensive education and superior Aryan race :D , what is your solution? Kristallnacht won't work here.

The U.S. has not been invaded for quite some time, so it would appear that strength based upon capability has successfully deterred those nations who may have thought the way Japan did long ago.

it would appear that your dumb and extremely uneducated comments do not warrant any meaningful comments from my side. :)

You only have a real education if you attended Mel Gibson University!

I knew this thread would cause our liberal friends to have wet dreams.

It seems to have begun.

How are comments "extremely uneducated"? How would one's 'fairly uneducaed', or merely 'uneducated' comments differ from 'extremely' uneducated' comments? I am still eagerly awaiting Herr Naam's final solution.

It is not a naive strategy...it's a lip-service strategy to gain moral high ground to try to enforce a global policy, and it does not effectively weaken either country.

Even with the reductions, the US and Russia will still have enough capability to destroy the world twice over.

Why would he bother? No matter how sensible it may be, it does not fit in with what he wants to believe. If it claimed that George Bush was the reincarnation of Satan himself and Laura Bush was Lizzie Borden returned, he would be your best freind for life. :)

But please don't worry that Osama Obama is limiting the use of your frightening toys.

He can even allow the use of them if the US was a victim of a cyber attack.

Take your medicine and give us a call in the morning.

Some people might think you took a bit too much of the wrong........?

Hmmmm......is it a bit like the chicken or the egg first question that has not been solved yet?

Your first comment I find a bit racist if I may say and I doubt the technology used by them (Dimona) has been the fruits of their own thinking only.

Mathematics/algebra was allegedly invented (sort of) by the Greek but more complex mathematics did not appear until around 3000 BC, when the Babylonians and Egyptians began using arithmetic, algebra and geometry for taxation and other financial calculations, for building and construction, and for astronomy.

I thought algebra was an Arab invention? No matter. Whoever invented it wouldn't know how to use a telephone let alone create a nuclear bomb. But why list only their ancient achievments? Please list some of their great accomplishments of the past, say, 200 years.

I did read it. It was not very convincing.

Nuclear deterrants worked because no nukes needed to be deployed; I was once told to leave pieces of pink paper around the garden to keep the pink elephants away.

It must have worked because I have never seen any pink elephants invade my garden.

The article did allude to the high ideal of future global safety. But global welfare and the future are two concepts far too alien for some of the more parochial people to consider.

Thank Nirvana we have all these "enlightened" kooks around to promote terrorism and make the planet a more progressive place. :)

unitl now i used only small green paper cuttings prevent crocodiles entering my garden. but to be on the safe side and deter elephants i request your kind permission to use your method too. how big are the paper pieces you are using Harcourt and should they be cut or torn in a special pattern? what do you suggest against muslim terrorists? will rosaries on the fence do the trick? :)

You could put up big signs that say "JOURNALIST", but you might very well get your head cut off. :)

Journalist & cameramen get mowed these days...Then get run over by Humvee's...

No safer being a ambulance/ helpful person trying to pick up the wounded journalist either....

Also being a kid does not afford you any better protection from this group either...

As they cannot tell the difference between a rifle sling & a camera sling....

After watching it is probably a good idea not to allow nukes in the hands of the guys doing the shooting here......

Lastly that article you linked Koheesti shows the exact reason everyone wants a nuke....deterrence

For a bit of history please go and visit below link, you might be impresses what all those ancient achievement have done for our modern day live.

You should wash your mouth with soap.............an invention perfected by a Muslim. :)

Washing and bathing are religious requirements for Muslims, which is perhaps why they perfected the recipe for soap which we still use today. The ancient Egyptians had soap of a kind, as did the Romans who used it more as a pomade. But it was the Arabs who combined vegetable oils with sodium hydroxide and aromatics such as thyme oil. One of the Crusaders' most striking characteristics, to Arab nostrils, was that they did not wash. Shampoo was introduced to England by a Muslim who opened Mahomed's Indian Vapour Baths on Brighton seafront in 1759 and was appointed Shampooing Surgeon to Kings George IV and William IV.

Alex, was soap only invented 200 years ago?

I believe Koheesti's question was....

"Please list some of their great accomplishments of the past, say, 200 years."

I checked your link and do agree with one thing the Muslim community invented. They invented The Maze and it is evident in this web site of 1001 inventions. I had six windows open at one time and still did not have the 1001 Arabian inventions (or nights) on display.

No quick answers there.

Ok easy link here: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/...rld-469452.html

Other one here: http://www.cyberistan.org/islamic/sciencehistory.htm

And you can down a pdf from here that tries to explain what happened to Muslim science. http://muslimheritage.com/topics/default.cfm?ArticleID=420

To just ask show me some significant Islamic discoveries/inventions of the last 200 years not taking into account what they have contributed over a thousand years is not fair.

Anyway this is about Obama's strategy and I already said I think there is nothing to fear be reducing the nukes. There are plenty of them left and the US government will have no problem using them if needed for whatever reason they see as legitimate.

Oh about the soap I think it is clear that A Muslim brought it to the great unwashed a bit over 200 years ago, so yes for those Brits shampoo was new.

:D

Check toothpaste.

:)

It's totally fair because it shows they haven't contributed anything to civilized society during a period when the rest of the world has done some remarkable things. They need to get out of the dark ages. At least over here in Dubai they may not be inventing anything but they are doing some amazing stuff all the same.

Anyway this is about Obama's strategy and I already said I think there is nothing to fear be reducing the nukes. There are plenty of them left and the US government will have no problem using them if needed for whatever reason they see as legitimate.

I don't think there is anything wrong with reducing them either. As you say, we'll still have enough to do the job. The naive parts are Obama thinking he can makes nukes obsolete and that telling our enemies that we won't use the nukes we have. The likelihood that the US will "need" to use them as just increased by Obama encouraging our enemies to attack without fear of retaliation. Thanks Barry!
