I drive a Toyota Corolla about 26 or 27 years old. The original cloth seats are still in pretty good shape - back seat almost perfect, passenger seat good - but the drivers seat, though having no holes, is getting a little worn and broken down. I'm considering having some form of re-covering or rebuilding done, but I hate vinyl or leather seats.

Has anyone had any experience with getting seats re-covered with cloth upholstery here?

And can they sort of somewhat build up the seat to make it more comfortable again?

I haven't but many used dealerships have and they might be willing to give you a reference and even show you some work done by their reference. It is obvious to me that they have seats re-covered all the time and I've seen some pretty good work around..If they're doing it for a dealership they must be reasonably priced with reasonable quality..

Often there are small shops that repair seats of all descriptions including car seats. It is not much work for them to whip the seats out and put new foam in and re-cover them. Maybe ask around some people to see if there is such a shop near you that does upholstery?

Either that or a goo scrap yard may have the seats you require. Rangsit springs to mind but there are others depending on your location. Bangkok has a few good places too for scrap yards.

CQ,

Passed a shop today on a street with a few reupholsters. 2800 Baht for both seats, 1500 for one.

They say they can do any seat but also said that fabrics change and if you do one they cannot guarantee to be able to match the other in the future.
