Rural, Urban Or A Bit Of Both?

Featured Replies

A bush dweller is given his hat on his first birthday and it stays on his head until it's buried with him. Washing and mending is not allowed.

Guns and other tools are carried in the boot of the car. Sometimes the bolt rusts up but this can usually be fixed by banging the butt on the ground.

I saw a lot of that ( butt banging on the ground ) in Nigeria.

Good for loosening up any dirt in the barrel too.

Now for those of you ( we know who you are Crock ) that think Bedlam has outgrown it's time, this is a proper conversation which could not be had in other parts of TV

:)

( lordy lordy and I thought I'd been in the sun too long ).

A " that " hat.

Good grief that's catchy. Get them made in china and sell them in droves to hayseed ockers !!

Thank's mate, boredom gone, thoughts of world domination in the milliner trade take over.

My ideal place is a remote cottage in a wooded valley on the banks of a fast flowing crystal clear river with a subway station 100 yards up the road with a high speed link to a large town.

Hey, that is where I live...

My friend has a cottage on the upper river where I can stay anytime I want, and it's only 20 minutes from where I live...

Who's nicked Sydney Harbour Bridge then?

I like to live where i am (have to move in two months, sob) - I am near shops, buses (one very handy one to the airport - before it was only taxis).

10 minutes to the City centre - bars, restos, lake. In the Summer Geneva is buzzing with music and festivals galore. The temperature is nice, in July and August can be up to 35C.

And most of all, as a single female, I feel safe where I live. I have a security code on the door, a friend has a spare key,my neighbours know me. But here, you do not need to be bothered about anyone attacking you or mugging you. I walk home from downtown quite often on my own, on a well lit street with other people doing the same and never feel scared. I often meet other people doing the same that i know. Taxis are expensive, but if you find people to share one then it is nothing. I always keep the price of a taxi in that little pocket in my jeans just in case it's raining.

I lived in the boonies when i was a teenager - hated it then. I like the pseudo security in knowing that if anything horrific happened to me in this city and i screamed blue murder then at least some one would come and help. And even for a wee skinny minny i can shout with the best of them.

But i do appreciate the absolute beauty of the wilderness of Canada and Scotland and all the places like that.
