Going Back To High School .....

Featured Replies

A member of my "Thai family" wants to get back to high school in Kho Kaen and I am asked to contribute to the costs. I am willing to help but I do not want to pay 50 000B for the "assessment" done by the administrator of the (public) school but I would not mind paying 20 000B a year for tuition etc. BTW : The student is 19y old and left school 3 years ago. Any ideas would be highly appreciated!!

"Public school" in the UK sense, or a normal Thai public school?

My wife's nephew, age 17, has just started the process of getting his high school degree. He'd dropped out of M-3 a couple years back so has to start over at M-1, which will take a year of going on Sundays. Then another year for M-4-6, and finished, if he sticks it out, hope he does.

Cost? About baht 100, that's ONE HUNDRED a week to help pay for the aircon in the room. Nothing else other than bus/van/motorcycle to get there and eats. NOTHING even approaching baht 20k for "tuition."????

Murat is a male Turkish name. Its meaning can be translated roughly into 'Reached Desire', 'Happy Ending' or 'Accomplished Goal'.

It sounds like a scheme concocted to extract money from you.

If you are willing to do it just offer to pay the school directly.
