Gareth Malone

I may ultimately regret my involvement in this thread, but who's Gareth Malone? He does have a Welsh forename and an Irish surname, which speaks of conflict.

Scouse.

He's a man who turns hooligans into choirs:

Gareth Malone's television appearances began in 2007 with his reality television series The Choir, broadcast on BBC Two. The series focussed on teaching choral singing to people who have no experience of singing, with the first programme set in a comprehensive school. Subsequent follow-ups continued the theme by taking choral music to challenging situations; Boys Don't Sing (2008) featured pupils at a boys' school who were reluctant to sing, and the third series, entitled Unsung Town, featured the formation of a community choir in a suburban town where singing was not a current activity.

Second episode of his latest venture (training 50 kids to sing in the chorus at Glyndebourne) is on BBC2 next Thursday and is a five star endure recommendation.

Having never been a chorister, what does that make me? :D
