Serious flooding allegedly caused by City Hall contractor

PATTAYA: -- As Pattaya waits in the hope for plenty of rain to fill the almost denuded reservoirs, one community located on Sukhumvit Soi 19 in the north of the city are probably hoping the rains stay away as they are continually subjected to serious flooding. A sub-contractor for Pattaya City Hall is engaged in digging holes in the nearby area but, according to local residents, the workers are allowing the sand and debris from the work to clog the local drains. This means that when it rains the area is subjected to flooding. A 59-year-old local community leader has made an official complaint to City Hall, stating that he and others had asked the contractor to be more careful with the on-going work in the area but the pleas had fallen on deaf ears.
