2nd Job

Featured Replies

I've been working at CMU for 13 years with WP. I have a friend of mine at a government hospital who knows my skills and they wish to contract me for 6-months to evalulate their IT (database and document) servers for efficiency and security. It would be part time and would work via modem from home.

The question is, will this be in conflict with my work permit? It is the same type of work but at two locations rather then one. It would only be a few hours a month but they are going to pay 10k/month. Not sure of tax problems, etc...

I'm not giving professional advise but my guess is it's a conflict because of 2 different 'employers'. Tax problems would come up if you did file the extra income. :o

I would like to know from the other members reading this post if they know of foreigners here having got into serious trouble for doing something like this....

Also not an expert but the work permit is connected with ones specific job+employer wherefore an extra job probably will require a seperate permission/work permit.

Now as to whether they can find out/will enforce Etc. that is a completely different discussion. Cheers!
