Drunk Driver Involved in Suspected Road Rage Fatality

PATTAYA: -- Two people have died in a tragic motorbike accident in Pattaya early on Tuesday morning. At present police speculate that the incident may have been a result of road rage as eyewitness accounts differ from that of the driver, who is also suspected of being intoxicated.

Pattaya, the 20th of July 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 2:00am on Tuesday, Lieutenant Colonel Preecha Sumrit (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of a fatal motor accident along Third Road in Central Pattaya. Officers along with the Sawang Boriboon Foundation were immediately dispatched to investigate and render assistance.

At the scene, officers found the body of an unidentified woman who was unconscious and suffering from a fractured skull and bodily bruising. She was immediately rushed to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital where she remains in a critical condition. Nearby officers also found the deceased body of Mr. Sumit Phanurat [21] who had suffered a severely fractured skull and is thought to have died on impact with the pavement.
