hey...waydaminit; I only got a few to go 'til 5000 an' I been here longer than you...

ain't no justice in dis stinkin' woild...maybe if I quit lookin' at internet porn an' posted on TV more... :(

Amongst other thing Thad B) but really, I'd never be with a bloke who thought his main quality was the size of his wallet. Must be a very disappointing existence!

But it does amuse when men claim that is the main thing (all) women look for in a mate when it is in fact the main thing that the women THEY look for, look for in a mate. Meaning they specifically target women who want a wallet imo.

Be afraid.....

:ermm: ...that's got to hurt, right?

Regards.

That cartoon is great, teletiger. Thanks.:jap:

It all comes down to the whole package, and it doesn't matter WHAT country you are talking about. When I used to drive an Austin Healy while going to university I couldn't keep the women away from me. I was the same guy BEFORE I had the Healy, but the action was no where near as available as it was until after I bought the sports car. I would always hear the gals chatting about some new guy at school, and The first question was always... "What kind of a car does he drive?" It that isn't materialism then what is?

I'd say you're right. It makes sense. An athlete wants someone who appreciates his athleticism, an academic wants to be appreciated for his education etc.

Funny, though, that academics don't go around claiming that women are only after a man for his brains, nor do athletes claim that women only want a man for his body.

As a man without a bulging wallet, I have to agree with you Boo, that it must be a very disappointing existance. ;)

Be afraid.....

an older bolivian cousin who is an MD chortled 'I look at pussies all day for a living...what do you do?'

he admired one ob dem austin-healy cars...

he wasn't very nice

Only guy I ever dated with a really nice car I started to date before I knew he had a car. Besides, I didn't need his nice car, I had my own, thanks :D

Just because some women are shallow enough to care about a man's car doesn't mean all women are that shallow. Oh no, wait, that can't be right. Women are all the same, whether it be the 300 million or so western women or the 3 plus billion women in the world, we are all EXACTLY the same.

and liking the guy with the nice car has nothing to do with money, it's whether he is cool or not. Othewise why does every teen angst movie ever made have the totally hot but from the wrong side of the tracks any hero poor boy who has the cool motorbike/car? Totally shallow much like men who only like the pretty girls at school.

my high school girl fren' was quietly beautiful...but I haveta admit she had nice tits ('I lurve ye, darling'...'yew just wanna play wid me tits!') ...an' I didn't have no car; when we went to the movies down in west LA always borrowed her folks' 60 chevy station wagon...

later, I got into it wid her mom at a mutual frens' wedding reception in the kitchen...she was hot and taught comparative literature at the local university; there was a question about The Metamorphoses and she deadpanned 'would that be Kafka or Ovid?' while not looking up from the salad that she was preparing one day...

having nice tits is always a pleasant surprise when yer attention is focused elsewhere...

I think most of us were shallow in our teenage years, Boo. I know I was. It was always the "hot" girls the guys went ga-ga over. The hotties knew it and manipulated the guys outrageously. Us guys were too stupid to realize it. It wasn't until our twenties that the light finally went on. Of course, there were always a few studs who learned earlier than other guys. Very often they were the bad guys the girls all lined up to have a chance at... hoping they would be the "one" to make him change. I get a chuckle now watching it happen all over again with friend's teenagers.

So it's the girl's fault again?

..and yet again the thread is dominated by men and their perspective. Is there any point giving your opinions Iadies?.. some men wiII never be swayed about their opinion of what women think and what women do. F*** mens waIIet size frankIy. If your an asshoIe with a bad attitude, your waIIet (and that other thing men seem to be obsessed about) couId be the size of the taj mahal and i stiII wouIdnt want to know you. If you waIIet is aII you have to offer a woman, then dont be surprised by what you attract.

well...Ms eek, some one said that us guys could post in here...and I certainly don't wanna intrude... :crying:

now, let me tellye about my lust for my thai mother in law...

I don't know anyone with a car. The parking is <deleted> here, and fines are huge. Taking the bus is more fun. A guy actually gave me his seat the other day. I must be looking like an old hag.

It's nice to have money, a friend took me for lunch the other day. When I went to pay my half he waved my hand away from my wallet. That hasn't happened in a long time. Perhaps the fact that he had drunk alot of wine came into it, because the next day I thanked him and he doesn't really remember. I only had a plate of chips and ate three quarters of his curry...

You cannot live in Switzerland without money. Last year i was so broke I was borderline poverty. After rent and the usual bills, I had about 5 quid a day to live on. Not a very nice existence. But I survived. Even now, with a bit of cash in the bank, I am extremely money conscious and don't spend too much. Just going out for a drink costs alot. Then, last month, the cat almost died. That cost a hel_l of alot. The vet wants money up front. But he still cost me almost 1000 pounds. And she (the vet) even gave me a discount.

All I am saying here is - we should not say we can live without money. Who wouldn't want to win the lottery once in their lives? I know i would, then I could go to KP and annoy sbk!!!!

patsy, yew got yer priorities all wrong; fuc_k the cat and let it die then go out on the piss, however expensive that may be...

I let a cat get in the way once, she also liked to come into the room when there were sexual activities going on...she got run over and then I was released...I mourned bitterly at her demise as she was a special cat but then exulted in my freedom!

left the US soon after never to return...

No, allowing yourself to be manipulated is the person's OWN fault. Men manipulate women with money and power. Women manipulate men with beauty and sex. It's always a trade off... same as it is with smooth running relationships. Both partners compromise to keep things running smoothly. Managing a long term relationship is always a compromise.

Sorry tutsi. Of course men are weIcome. Im just rather insuIted by certain maIe attitudes to women. Maybe its a generation thing? I have no idea. But even when women try to give their perspective on what WOMEN think, its dismissed. But to be honest, i rareIy come across this kind of attitude in everyday Iife, even from my oIder maIe friends. Then again, thats probabIy why im friends with them. THey dont have some archaic static view of women.

Don't think any of the women are saying you can't live without money. Just saying that money isn't necessarily the attraction most guys on this forum seem to think it is, and frankly, its a very tiresome boring refrain that I, for one, could live without if I never heard it again. Usually it comes from guys who make the same bad choices over and over again and come up with it being the fault of women rather than taking a good hard look at their own personal issues.

And while I understand eek's complaint, coz it does get tiresome seeing this thread hijacked by a few guys petty personal issues there are others who are more than welcome.

In reply to all the ladies here, I haven't seen any real negative comments that weren't just in fun. Men tease each other all the time in a somewhat rough and ready manner. Yes, there are comments about a man's fat wallet being important to many women, but that is because it is true. However, we also acknowledge that it isn't always the case, and only includes a narrow group of women. It's no less true than most men being attracted to the women with the nicest figures and biggest boobs. But, by the time a man passes the age of 40 he usually gets his priorities straight and realizes anything more than a one night stand requires a whole lot more from a potential partner. Brains and a good personality become a lot more important than a hot body.

Um, no. I can't say that I have actually seen that many guys refute the belief that women are after money. In fact, if anything, it seems to be a major belief of a great number of vociferous posters on this forum so if there are men who believe that they are unusually silent.

Not fair! Read my post in response to Boo.

Hmmm...you're right, I didn't actually refute....but I did agree that it was a sad existance to hold the belief.....by extension, it means I don't hold the belief, which in turn means that not all guys hold the belief.
