Ifox Gps In Thailand Car Map

Featured Replies

Was looking at some GPS's for in car in Power Buy, not really in detail yet. I was looking at the lower end. I am not looking for a be all and end all system, one thing really annoying me in Thailand when driving is the road signage is very poor, exit signs very late, to know when I am 500m away would be nice.

I admit a bit of a lingo barrier in Power Buy, I could not find out who the map supplier is. Anyone have any experience on how the map database compares to the ERSI in Garmins?

How user friendly are the iFox systems?

Garman had map for 1 year free updates, iFox had 3 years free updates, any idea on the cost of updates?

I am just trying to research a bit before going to Bangkok to GPS shops.

I guess we are in the same state as I am still in the search of a best deal.

Well you've to be mindful about the navigation software as well....There are some main factors to consider before putting hands over it:

1. Type of GPS brands (Garmin, ifox, Leona, Tele System, Kazzak-Germany...)

2. Type Navigation software (TSM, SpeedNAvi, iGo etc.)

3. Additional Features: Screen size, junction view, bluetooth, AV port etc.

There may not be any straightfwd. answer to your query as each User has his or her own preferences & perceptions.

Of course most preferred that I've found in this forum is "Garmin equipped with TSM"

hope it helps
