We have talked about this a lot. For me road noise is tops. My Michelin Cross Terrain were original fitment on the Vigo and think they are great. :) Toyota moved to Bridgestone but l think it was purely financial.

Any idea what the price differences might be? And are you talking about the Latitude Cross?

And any recommendations for a good tire place in Bangkok that won't rip me off?

On a tight budget.

No, not the Latitude, more cash. A member says Hankook are good and less cash. :)

Just bought new set of tyres for my Vigo two days ago from Cockpit: Michelin Latitude Cross 255/70R15 @ B5,500.

Bridgeston Duelers were only 50 baht cheaper.

Is Cockpit better than B-Quik? At last for tyre prices?

How are you Latitude Cross tyres working out?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I was wondering what was the best value for money set of tyres for my PJS.

My budget is quite small so I was wonder, are the Duelers that come the best options available? Anyone know which ones also reduce rod-noise the best?

B-Quik released some prices and was wondering if they are ok. Any gurus out there?

:D

The Bridgestone Duellers that came on your Mitsubishi are horrific - practically anything else would be a better choice.

Unfortunately I can't help much with suggestions if you're running that standard wheels -I've never kept those on a car long enough to compare OEM fitment options ;)

Thanks for that MRO. Yes, I'm running on the OEM wheels. Thinking of giving either Michelin or Hankook a try. Quite shocked at the price of the Duelers. I've heard good things about the Hankooks, but do they last as long? Heard people saying they are good but don't last as long.

Wheels aside, I guess i'm just trying to figure which tyres are worth the money.

All tires sold in Thailand have UTQG ratings on them, so easy to compare treadwear.

As noted, I really don't have any advice to offer for OEM fitments - my best suggestion would be to create a short-list of tires, then try to compare them on one of the better tire websites out there (e.g. Tirerack). Tire models in TH vary to the USA of course, so make sure you're comparing the right thing (e.g. the Bridgestone Dueler H/T Alenza is NOT the Dueler H/T 470 that came on your car - scroll to the bottom of this to see it ;) )

Thanks MRO. You're the man. In general do most of the places usually have about the same price for their tyres? Or are there suggested shops?

And holy cow, the OEM Duelers really are crap.

I didn't shop around so don't know (I purchased in Nakhon Sawan city). Had a good 70km run this morning at speed on both dirt tracks and asphalt roads: good grip and did not squeal whilst fast cornering the way the Deullers always did at the Vigo's recommended pressure.

I've always found the independents are usually more negotiable on price, but when the major chains do an advertised promotion it's rare you'll find a better price. The problem with shopping around is going to be brand confusion - i.e. you'll find something cheaper somewhere but will have never heard of it, and won't be able to find any ratings for it online. Good luck :)
