slapout
Would agree that if the charge against him is true, he should be brought to account. If he is innocent and the lady accused him as a personal vendetta, she should be made to serve her sentence for procurement and add on the time that he could have been sentenced to for abusing minors in any manner. Sometimes it seems the Thai police work opposite to what 'real world' police forces do, grant a deal to the small fish to get the big ones. Here they seem to go after the small fry and if its a foreigner, they pull out all stops and publicize it for all to see.
onnut
IF the Dr is telling the truth, imagine the nightmare! His life is over now even if charges are dropped. This <deleted> does happen to people who are unlucky to know these sort. Just because he did not lend her money! If he did do it then it's good he is not roaming the streets anymore. sevenhills
From what I have read here and on another online paper, this guy is is getting framed. The Thai seller of underage kids is trying to extort money from this guy for sure, and the BIB will certainly try and help her. Money is tight now so us Farang are easy targets IMO. Kwasaki
I'm glad to see the Thai police acting on this kind of thing and maybe a story like this will help to stop people from exploiting kids. We don't need the like of Gary Glitters in Thailand let Thailand make that clear.
petercool
There is no fact supporting any extortion by the police even if the woman may be framing him. Like most places in the world, evidence is required in Thailand before he can be officially charged and sentenced. A good lawyer is needed. There is only going to be a possibility of corruption if evidence is found and he tries or is offered a way to buy his release. Let's see what else is reported before judging him or the police .... PLEASE.
