I'm in the market for RO unit but found quite a few brand and models.

I'm not looking for the top of the line but willing to pay extra few baht if it's worth it.

I see Clarke, coway, Pure, just to name a few.

Anyone with any experience or knowledge?

I'm using RO filter unit at home. It may be looked that complicate for maintenance. But it worth to have it because I get the very good quality water for drinking.

It may need to pay almost 10 times more if I purchase the RO bottled water.

Extremely inefficient/wasteful system and removes mineral content of the water in my reading. Great for industry or salt water treatment but I would not use in home for normal bacteria removal that can be done with carbon and filter/UV methods.

Disadvantages of reverse osmosis units

RO units use a lot of water. They recover only 5 to 15 percent of the water entering the system. The remainder is discharged as waste water. Because waste water carries with it the rejected contaminants, methods to re-cover this water are not practical for household systems. Waste water is typically connected to the house drains and will add to the load on the household septic system. An RO unit deliver-ing 5 gallons of treated water per day may discharge 40 to 90 gallons of waste water per day to the septic system
