At this time they believe a combination of high speed and poor street lighting was to blame for the crash.

You mean they don't have headlights on Fortunas? Poor lighting is an equally poor excuse for an accident like this. All times, night and day, your speed should be regulated to the distance you can see.

RIP to the poor lad that died, it didn't say who was driving but my guess is that he was passenger, probably with no seat belt.

when they will learn the basic driving skill in a proper driving school

and when there will be proper speed check and fine that doesn t make you drive faster again

ther will be less dead on thai road

my guess is there might be a slight change in about 20 years....

Fortuner!!! What else to say. Whenever you get in trouble on the roads, Fortuner's are concerned by a high ration. Speeding, tailgating....you name it.

This is my experience after driving 5 yrs in Thailand. A Fortuner is the racer of the Wannabe HiSo's. :o

At that time of the morning, probably drugs and alcohol were involved. Add that to going too fast and you have an accident waiting to happen. Very sad for the young man.

Suk is a dangerous stretch of road, accidents all the time. Down here by the Ambassador, they think it is a speedway. Amazing at how fast they drive. Of course, with little police activity, they get away with it...most of the time...

When pigs learn to fly or hel_l freezes over and then only maybe. You can't go from driving an oxcart to a Fortuner in one generation and learn basic driving skills. And with no real police enforcement of the roads we have what we have today.

And the 40,000 + that die on the roads every year in USA is down to what, proper testing, sensible and skilled drivers and strict policing ?
