PLanning a trip to Chiang Rai around xmas time. Does anyone know anywhere to rent rods and fish on the cheap?

Buy a rod and reel. As chesp as 300 baht then fish in the river kok.Its free! So that will fit your budget. Unless of course you wsnt yo lake fish? Then its ip to you. The river has fish and edible too. Can't get cheaper than that.

I understand that they have some chalets in this fishing park. I am planning to stay a few days there next month and would like to make a confirmed booking before I arrive.

1. Anyone know whether they have a website (in English)?

2. Whether the owners speak English, if I have to call them to make a booking?
