Tigerfish - just go ahead and shag the marrow! It'll be nice and soft by now.

Kylie.

Actually, I don't think it's her accent. It's just her.

I love it when Jessica Alba speaks swahili. In fact I love it when she breaths, takes a shit, just about anything really..............Perhaps I should lie down now ?

I'd love to shag a Scot's accent. Provided it's female, of course.

Worked the Durham Miner's Welfare Camp at Skeggy one summer.

The girls (?? can't think of a better word) from Townhead used to come in to breakfast with their hair in curlers and scarves, also lunch and early evening meal. Ciggies hanging from lips, chatting away in some unknown language in which the only recognisable words would be scrubbed on this forum.

Then, later in the evening they would emerge in full schlapp, hair brushed out, ciggies in handbag, and wonder why the only guys who would chat them up were the really desperate Young Socialist members who wanted to unionise them or sign them up for Young Guard or Keep Left meetings the next afternoon.

My accent has always received compliments. Dont be dissing the Scots..i may get all patriotic on you and then feel ashamed of myself.

Are you going to paint your face blue and shout FREEEEEDOOOOM! ?

Having lived in the South for a time I have to tell you that Suki's accent is really quite awful.

Now, Matthew McConaughey does a very shaggable and REAL Southern accent.

To get ahead, get an accent. The lilt of Scottish and southern Irish voices are much more attractive than the Queen's finest English.

In a boost to Gordon Brown and the Scottish and Irish diaspora, new research to find out what accents people like - and dislike - most has found that the English are losers.

English spoken with southern Irish, Scottish and New Zealand accents are the most popular, while English spoken with Black Country, German, Asian and Liverpool accents were the least popular.

Birmingham is Britain's least-liked accent and comes bottom of a table of 34 accents compiled from research based on more than 5,000 people. The research also shows that English spoken with a German accent is one of the most unattractive sounds

The Norfolk accent has me in stitches every time though! :D

In the UK, i once read that the soft Scottish accent is considered the most trustworthy accent..and thats why you hear so many Scottish accents for adverts such as Insurance sales. o.o

Used to be the standard accent behind the counters of the Labour Exchange in days of yore; then they changed them to Job Centres and staffed them with Indians. Whatever happened to all those Scottish guys who dished out the jobs? (Or jobbies?)

the scottish accent isnt always looked upon in such a fine light.

especially in some parts of london !

used to work up at smithfield meat market back in the capital and there are a few pubs in and around the area that lean to one particular side of glasgow, if you know what i mean. walk in wearing the wrong colored shirt and you could be sporting a smile not of the usual kind made by some of the finest butchery sllverwear london has to offer.

I was introduced to an American guy by a friend of mine last year. This guy was absolutely fascinated by the history of Lord Horatio Nelson and upon meeting me ( a born and bred Norfolk lad ) I'd like to think secretly horrified that Nelson could possibly have an accent like mine.

" Oi wan' yew ter lud up them thar staaarburd caaannuns n' give 'em French buggers a roight gud hidun' "

I won't forget the piccies of the Diggers at Christmas...

And the rest of Edinburgh. May be upside down--

I'm no Henry Higgins, so I haven't a clue where the accent comes from, but for a novelty shag based on accent, I wouldn't mind the Bubbles, who is Edina's secretary in Absolutely Fabulous. I'm sure some Brits will be able to enlighten me to what her accent is.....Last of the Summer Wine region springs to mind (whereever that is).....but as I said, I'm no Higgins.

What if she comes from the border area - say Bacup or Todmorden?

Can one distinguish the accent when only a couple of miles separate the two communities?

And how about Liverpool's Scouse accent, as against 'standard' Lancastrian? Or Mancunian?

When I was a young lad and at college, I worked at the McDonalds drive through.

I was working one day when Swindon were playing Newcastle. Shitloads of Geordie's came into the drive through. One guy in particular came up to the counter and ordered a..............

Well we never did find out what he ordered because nobody could understand a <deleted> word he was saying. We tried pointing at the menus and stuff but he got pissed off and walked of in a strop, still hungry.

Swindon won the football biggrin.gif
