Well, you can blame illegal immigrants if you want. But….. my 90 year old mother spent 2 days in an ambulance in the car park of a hospital in Cornwall, because there weren’t any hospital beds available. There aren’t many illegal immigrants in Cornwall. There, they blame up country folk for moving to the south west and swamping the NHS services available down there. The rational folk among us might say that if the demographic make up of the country is changing in such away that population growth of the elderly is happening in the south west, why not ramp up NHS capacity to meet the demands upon it? Hasn’t happened. I can’t speak for other parts of the UK, but it’s simplistic ( and convenient) to just blame illegal immigrants. IMHO -
