The Audi/VW/Porsche 3.0L TD is good for 300+ HP and 600+Nm - so should give something like a Caribean a solid kick in the ass. Might be troublesome fitting it in such a small car though ;)

J/K - it's going to be difficult to find a TD under 2500cc, and even that's probably going to be too big.. Hopefully Philipm sees the thread and has some proper ideas..

I think this is a 1600 toyota turbo engine

isuzu has a 1700cc TD used in many GM/Opel cars, not sold in any car in LOS, but very common in fridge/freezer containers

you also need a new fuel tank, or perhaps fit diesel return to existing tank

I understand that the 2.0 VW turbo diesel is quite a close match and they have been using them in the states. But you will have to do some research. It was 4 years ago when i was reading up on it

Depends on wether your thinking newish di or c/r or simple similar bhp more torque, if the latter some Toyota Liteace/ Nissan Vanette's had 2ltr diesels or very old Isuzu KB/Buddy 2.2 diesel or going newer Kia K2700/Pregio diesel i personaly would see if the latter would fit and any available, if any do fit i would think the front springs will need to be stronger.
