As he said, because you're not Irish and have never met a pikey.

What I want to know....which characters are Irish and which are pikey? They all look and sound the same to me.

Or are they all Irish pikey?

Like the character Brad Pitt played in....dam_n, I forget the name of the movie...with Jason Statham and Pitt was a pikey bare knuckle boxer.

Are all pikeys Irish? I thought pikey referred to gypseys.

Snatch

Yep if you're referring to the one in the blue, I agree.

The term Pikey refers to Irish Gypsies/travellers/fair folk etc.. I believe the term can also be used when referring the the 'lower classes'.

These people have a love of horses, and still use them on a day to day basis, and trade them at horse fairs.

Why is it that I used to be able to see embedded items on my screen, now cannot.

But if I send a reply to any, and embed a video, I can do so?

But I can't see it in the post?

Only happened over the past couple of weeks, used to be OK.

So what are English gypseys called? And are they descended from the Roma?

So what are English gypseys called? And are they descended from the Roma?

Gypsies/travellers (not to be confused with new age travellers). Most but not all claim to be of Romany decent, the big group in the area where I live are called the "smith's, and they are.

Sometimes these "Smiths" travel to Australia in large groups for the holidays, where they get up to a few tricks such as paving driveways for farmers in remote areas (Pretending they work for the council and have some bitumen left over) for a good price! Laid very thin it falls apart within days.

They also dabble with various ATM scams and false credit cards.

I reckon there would be a large "Smithovsky" branch of that family.

They even named a car after a gypo called " Morris"............

Well, I can think of twenty or thirty words in the common vernacular :

dam_n, the computer-censor's blotted them all out.
