I need to either rent or buy a car for 4 adults and 3 children.

Can anyone recommend something - i.e what model.

Also, would a rental place have these models?

Toyota Avanza would be in the lower price at approx 6-700k baht. Honda Freed similar in size, but approx 200k more in price

Toyota Innova starting 850k?baht

Toyota Fortuner starting 1,1 million baht, so does Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Izu MU-7

Some of them available as rentals from Avis, Budget, Thai Rent a Car

Add:

Thiarung Allroader (7 seats) - 820K Baht

Thairung Adventure (7 seats) - 940K Baht

Hyundai H-1 (12 seats) - 1.07M Baht

Toyota Commuter (16 seats) - 1.128M Baht

Audi Q7 (7 seats) - 6.85M Baht

Pajero Sport (7 seats) starts from 960K Baht

Isuzu Mu-7 (7 seats) starts from 1M Baht

BTW not sure if you're aware, but you gained a child between the sub-title and the post ;)

Since the title says "recommendation" and not "what is available" then I would recommend the fortuner, preferably a diesel one...... by my reckoning (some opinion, some scientific fact) it is about the safest car you can get for a larger family, its comfortable and versatile, well equiped, and generally a nice & desirable vehicle....... should hold its value well if you decide to buy.....

There are of course lots of alternatives, but that is what I would recommend.

Does it have seating for 6 people?

Yes, Fortuner is a 7-seater (it was previously recommended by KataBeachBum)

For the record, there's not a single lemon in these lists - I'd happily recommend any one of them.

I got a Isu MU- 7 for 1800 baht a day which will do us fine.

Thanks for the advice.

I hope you're here on holiday as you're burning money at that price.

Really, I thought it was ok. I've lived here for over 20 years :whistling: not a tourist.

I was offered a pickup for 700 Bht a day or a Toyota Vios for 800 Bht.

Please tell me where I can get a better price.
