Webcam And Speakers For New Pc

Featured Replies

Just need some advice please. Just got my pc set up(brought all the parts from home country) and have purchased a new monitor.

So I need to buy a webcam and some speakers and am looking for some advice as to which brands to buy and where to buy. Should I just go to say Big C or Lotus and buy them or is it preferable to go to a computer shop to get them?

I know absolutely nothing about these items as my current laptop has everything built in. Now I wish to use the pc as my main computer.

Any helpful advice is much appreciated.

Thank you.

I like Powerbuy and Tesco have some great deals as well.

May I ask what you need speakers for? if you are planning on using skype so you can talk to friends for free, I suggest a decent headset with a microphone. There are cheap ones with two jacks (one for sound and the other for the mic) I prefer an USB heatset but they tend to be double the price.

In terms of the cam prices, before investing alot I would figure out how good your internet is and your calling parties internet, I have found so many time that with poor internet the cam just eats up the bandwidth and I end up shutting it off.

Lat comment if you are planning on spending alot of time with your headset see if there is anyway you can try them on first, some feel good and others hurt after 15 minutes.

Thank you for your reply. I bought speakers, webcam with microphone included and mouse pad today from one of the local computer shops.

Speakers working well and will try the webcam and microphone tomorrow. Total cost was 800 baht so not so bad.

As far as the webcam goes, the difference between a HD webcam and a normal webcam is about the same difference between a tuk tuk and a BMW. If you can afford an HD cam, get it. I have a 720 cam and its awesome. But try to find the 1080 model. The video and microphone work great. No headset involved or needed when you are connected to your big screen TV.
