CHINATOWN: Popular road will be closed to traffic

BANGKOK: -- A Chinatown road popular with shoppers will be closed to traffic on weekends starting from tomorrow.

Traffic Police chief Maj-General Panu Kerdlarpphol said yesterday that Wanich I Road would turn into a pedestrian street from 10am-5pm every Saturday and Sunday. The move is aimed at making the crowded lane safer for walkers, so they do not have to sneak around stalls and dodge motorcycles delivering products to stores in Yaowaraj.
