Jrd Motor Cycles

Recommended Posts

I would like to hear about other peoples experiences with JRD, good bikes/bad bikes, good/bad after sales service etc. I have a 10 month old Quest that has never run right, constant problems, indifferent dealers, work not done, new problems created by JRD mechanics, no response from JRD Thailand to 3 letters etc etc etc. Is it only me or are other people not happy with JRD?

My mate has one. I rode it and it felt okay to drive but not amazing. His dealer is also incompetent, replaces wrong parts, takes ages etc.

The price of the bike is fair but perosnally I do not like the design. That said I would at least consider buying one and would take a look at any new models if only for consideration.

Cheap bikes but absolutely crap. Poor performance, bad finishing & bad support. I believe the make is Malaysian. Oh I also found the brakes wer'nt too hot either :o

Checked them out before and decided that for resale and piece of mind the kwak boss or honda Phantom were both worth the extra cash.

Bought honda, never a moments problem and as a small bike can cope with milage. Excellent dealer & service. 3 years in and it's cost about 400 bht for service, plus if I sell a good return and easy to find a buyer.VFM in my opinion. :D

I decided to take your advice, now I'm finding that no one wants to buy it! I'll probably end up buying a Yamaha Nuovo and leaving the JRD to rust in peace. 3 letters to JRD Thailand and a letter and an email to JRD Malaysia elicited no response at all. At the moment I have no front brake, in their abortive attempts to get the ABS working (for the first time) they damaged a seal on the caliper. Now I'm faced with a cross BKK journey to the dealer at RCA to get it repaired, its still under warranty but I will probably have to pay for it myself as not much seemed to be covered under the JRD warranty. In my own experience I can say that JRD are second to none, Ive never owned a worse bike and never received such bad aftersales service. If anyone out there is thinking of buying a JRD m/c, think twice and consider Englishoak's words.

Anyway, thanks to those that did respond, I wish more had but that's the way it goes!
