Banks

Featured Replies

Hi to you all does any one know of any banks in Hua Hin that will open a account for a farang as my Thai wife & I hope to settle in Hua Hin

Easiest, Siam Commerical Bank on Petchkasem. (They're the most "farang-friendly" of all the banks in Thailand, imho)

You'll just need your passport, a smile, and some cash. (1000 baht is fine. The more the better, however)

Already, I've opened multiple accounts with SCB (at 2 separate locations) with just a 30-day stamp.

Try Kasikorn Bank, it's a good bank to use for foreigners living in HH

I want to second the previous reply on the ease of doing business with and also mention the friendly service provided by SCB Bank.

SCB is the bank of choice .... handles all the students at Webster

Our house is not finished yet but no problem to open an account at Bangkok Bank just on a tourist visa

Be wary of the Bank of Ayuthaya... I find they often jack 100 - 200 baht every so often in 'commission'! :o Not much money I know but to rub a bit more salt in they charge you money to actually deposit you're own hard earned cash into the account!

Cheeky twts!

Thanks for the info on the SCB I'll be opening an account with them when I arrive! :D

:o:D I found the bank of Bangkok very helpful, set the account up in about 20 minutes, well before the house and papers were ready
