Boutique Style Accommodation West Of The City

Featured Replies

Hi forum

Does anyone have any recommendations for Boutique style accommodation here in Chiang Mai, especially those done in Lanna style?

And as a second question: I, like many others who get visitors from time to time, often see them residing in the Tape and Night Bizarre area which is always a bit of a trek between that end of town and mine. So if anyone reading this knows of some hidden treasures west of Nimmanhaemin Rd, please post them here so that I can go take a look.

I have found a couple of quite nice places in the thick of that area, but haven't come across anything near to the quieter Canal Road end, or beyond even.

Thanks in advance

There's the Doi Kham Country Homes resort near the Royal Flora.

Little cheaper on Agoda.

"west of town' is a little strange as there is no west of town; you hit the mountain the second you leave town on that side. Unless you count the Samoeng Loop; which of course has many resort options.

Try Baan Saen Doi. just off Canal Rd near the turning to the Night Safari. Not cheap but beautiful place, great staff, excellent food in the Saen Kham Terrace (view over paddi fields to Doi Saket), and all the facilities you could want and more; check out the website:

Thanks for the suggestion WinnieTheKhwai. I've saved the link. It certainly looks like and interesting concept.

C'mon now, i think you know what i mean. Don't you? Just in case you don't, i was referring to the west side of the city, or as i said in my opening post, anything west of Nimmanhaemin Rd. There's still plenty of civilisation on the other side of canal road you know ;)

Thanks folium, I've also saved that one to my collection of potentials because it looks so nice. However, its location is not ideal for my visitors. It would actually place them further apart from me than the down-town CM though. The idea is to have them nearer. I'm the other side of canal road right near CM university.

Thanks for the feedback guys, it is appreciated :)

When doing an intense search for an apartment, I came across this lovely small hotel. http://www.thaitravelpages.com/scripts/hoteldefault.asp?nMEMID=1524&TABID=1. The most nicely appointed rooms I saw. Just a bit small for me and no kitchen. I was quoted 4500THB per month for the 'junior suite'. It has a small well equipped gym big swimming pool, restaurant and bar. Everything looked very new. The only down side, it's on the east side of Canal Rd and not far enough away from the airport runway.

Thanks for that sticklee. Yes it is on the wrong side for me, but I've still saved the site nonetheless. There's no such thing as knowing too much when it comes to options in accommodation.

It looks as though my neck of the woods is not yet catering for too much, although there's a plethora of brand new condominium and apartment buildings shooting up all over the area, but not so much on the Boutique Accommodation front, hence me asking if anyone knew of any hidden treasures that i might have missed on my gallivants.
