Someone has to uphold their duty in propagating the species

Rest of you seem pretty nonchalant when it comes to Schopenhauer's 'Will To Life' !

Moog, that photo is not encouraging anyone!

Me, I was doing the same thing I am doing this year, same thing I was doing the year before that and before that and on. Living in the same house, married to the same guy, watching the afternoon thundershowers roll in. Although today does have abit of a twist because I just made chocolate chip cookies (there is a reason my husband loves me so much :o )

I can remember (just) what I was doing when JFK was shot. What I was doing when man walked on the moon (starving in S. Africa), what I was doing when Di died and what I was doing when the tsunami hit. But I'll be buggered if I'll even try to recall that magic :D evening that some self absorbed pom had a tequila with someone called Ning in Hua Hin. :o

I'm with The Moog here. Aren't blogs the place for introspection of this nature. Or at least stick with that lengthy China topic if you want to talk about the price of trousers in Beijing.

  • 1 month later...

27th August 2004 - just finished a contract in Hat Yai, was working in Malaysia with the intention of going onto Indonesia in the New Year.

Job in Malaysia went "tits up", the Indonesian job fell through so had to bail out back to blighty by February. G/f found a rich farang within two weeks of me touching down at Heathrow. Took me a month to get work and now starting to freeze my <deleted> off as the winter approaches. Im I bitter? Nah, must admit I was at first but shit happens eh!

Would I change anything, of course I would, but I guess you just got to deal with the hand your dealt. In light of everything else going on in the world my problems are miniscule.

Heading back out (just for a hol) end of November, catch up with a few friends, attend a couple of parties but what am looking forward to most is climbing onto a hammock, reading a day old Bangkok Post (cant get fresh ones where am going) and falling asleep with the sound of the tide in my ears, ahhhh bliss. :o

Following The Moog's comment about 'do I only respond to topics in which I start myself' I was influenced to start this one by thinking back to this time last year when I had loads of time to respond to other topics on ThaiVisa dot com when I wasn't looking after the Sunshine restaurant in Hua Hin or at home singeing the king of Spains beard.

Blimey, it's over a year since I met Ning!!!  :o

August 26th we met, and August 29th I moved to Condo Chain in Hua Hin from Bangkok and brought her with me.

She was asleep in the back of Splitlid's car with all my stuff and the three of us went out that night and did some tequillas and later I discovered that I had bitten off more than I could chew with the Ningster.

How many now well known members have we gained since then and how many have fallen by the wayside?

I know Splitlid is one of them, and I think top brass should send out an e-mail inviting all those golden oldies back, Tutsiwarrior, D90 and Rod Kalashnikov et al.

I want to respond to some other topics but I've only recently finished work and I have to be up in 7 hours.

Incedentally, I had a day off yesterday - my first since I started six weeks ago, and I went to Tiannamen Square but I didn't see it because it was night time and I wanted to do some shopping and to my shock and horror I spent 780 RMB on a pair of trousers and the equivelant of 20 quid on a tank top.

Be warned...

Anyone who says China is cheap is talking out of their arse.

Viva Thailand and all the expats and Thai people and reasonably priced shopping malls!  :D

I recall discussing with a bud if tank tops would ever make a return to the fashion fold.We agreed they wouldn't.

On August the 29th last year the wife and i were having a romantic meal to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. If you ask the same question this time next year then i will respond by saying i was sat on the edge of the bath looking at a pregnancy test waiting for the dots to either appear or disappear. The good news is they didnt dissapear, what a present for our anniversary :o

what does that mean ? prego or not ? never took one before .
