I Just Had Breast Augmentation At Yanhee Hospital

Hi!

Havn't been here for while but now I have something new to share. :)

2,5 weeks ago i had breast augmentation at Yanhee hospital in Bangkok.

Although I've lived in Bkk for a while now, I went with the a company called "Destination Beauty" .They helped me with booking the popular Dr.Greechart at Yanhee.

Here is how my day was:

I was picked up by Destination beauty's driver at around 8 am and taken to the hospital. It was very convenient to be picked up because I was both tired and hungry. I had to stop eating at 7 am in the morning because I was having surgery the same day,

When I came to Yanhee hospital (around 10 am) a lovely girl called Maya, from DB was already there to meet with me.

I had appointment with Dr. Greechart at 10.30 but as things are in Thailand i had to wait a while longer before i finally met him.

There were lots of people sitting in the waiting room. I would guess there were around 60 people waiting for consultation with various doctors.

Dr.Greechart was unusually talkative and very nice. He took time to explain the procedure while he was making markings with his blue pencil over my chest and under my arms.. He asked me why i wished to do BA and how i wanted it to look like in the end. So I explaned to him that I was not going for the Tennisball-effect, and that I wanted the more natural slope-look.

He also told me there is a new new brand of implants in Yanhee hospital, called Sebbin. They are French from what I understand, and Dr.G told me they are better and more soft than the Mcghan and Mentor implants. Then I asked him if he think it would look good to put the implants in front of the muscle, and he nodded and said "that will look good on you".

So I went with these Sebbin implants, texured, in front of the muscle. 285cc

After the consultation I signed some documents regarding guarantees and that I allowed the hospital to take care of any "body parts" that I might leave behind with them.

I guess that means, that i will NOT have to bring back any body fluids or blood i might loose during the surgery. I am happy the hospital will take care of that for me! :P

After that I payed, and then it was time to go and see the anesthesiologist (spelling??), and sign a form there too.

Then I was taken to my room where I would spend the night.

There were lots of check ups all the time and i had to answer questions about allergies and medications at least 5 times by different nurses and specialists.

The room was a private room, not a luxury room, but comfortable, clean and it had all i needed at the moment.

Maya was with me all the time and that felt very good!

A nurse came a while later to remove my nail polish and make up.She said it is for safety. When you are having general anesthesia, they need to be able to see your nails clear. The nurse told me the nails change colour if there is a complication during surgery.

Then another nurse put a needle with IV in my hand and I was given a sleeping pill at the same time.

By now I was extremely hungry, so it feelt kind of nice to have the sleeping pill and go to sleep. :)

The next thing i remember is hearing Dr.Greechart's voice as I woke up. I opened my eyes and saw him and heard him talking but then I went back to sleep again.

Later I woke up in my room feeling hungry again! :) So I asked for some food. Strangely enough I did not feel like eating although I was very hungry.

I looked down on my chest and suddenly i was side awake!!!! I had new breasts! and they looked like two trafic cones standing out of my chest, and i felt so very heavy.

I did not feel much pain to be honest, more the feeling of pressure, some soreness and a very heavy upperbody!

It was difficult to try to sit up because my body was not used to having something this heavy hanging around in front.

There were also drain tubes coming out from under my arms...and there they were...bottles of body liquid, mostly blood coming from the drain tubes.

I am happy i did not went for the extra painkiller-machine, the you can regulate by your own and it is pumping painkillers into the blood directly.

The pain was not that bad so I could do very well without it.

I went back to sleep rather quickly, because I felt exhausted. The nurses came to check my temperature and blood pressure every hour during the night.

In the morning I had breakfast and a nice representativel from Destination beauty came to visit me and give me a present! Soo sweet! :)

The nurses came to take off the bandage and there they were....my new trafic-cone breasts. I was stearing at them and they were stearing back at me.

The drain tubes were also removed and the nurses cleansed the wound and put plasters on.

They put a bandage around me but just before I was ready to go they said i could start wearing my sportsbra which felt a lot better.

At lunchtime i took a taxi home. The staff at Yanhee was very trained and they told the taxi driver to drive REALLY gentle. That was very much appreciated. :)

Bumbing around in a taxi on the streets of Bangkok with recently inserted implants is not something i would recommend.

After i got backhome I stayed in bed most of the day.

Anyway, that is how things went.

Now almost 3 weeks after the surgery, I am very happy with the result. I no longer have two trafic cones. Nowthey both feel and look very soft and natural!

What...no pictures :annoyed:

So what was the total cost...and was the hospital stay just 1 nite?

The total cost was 95 000baht and I only stayed in the hospital for 1 night.

In defence of the OP, my wife is currently looking into having this operation. (I actually added the thread to my "favourites", so I could quickly catch up on the replies).

And important to me will be the total cost. You say 95,000B - did that include the cut for the "middle-man" agency.

(note: Have refrained from plugging the company)

This is the health forum. First hand reports of any medical or cosmetic procedure are welcome as long as genuine and not spam.

Many people look to this site for exactly this type of thing...first hand reports/recs.

I would say that's very reasonable; it would be at least 4 times more expensive in my European country.

Hi!

Thank you for the support and help Sheryl and others.

The price for breast augmentation is the same with the agent or without the agent. 95 000 baht is the price on the Yanhee hospital website too. I think the agents have some other sort of deal with the hospitals they work with.

Anyway the agent i went through told me they have a contest going on where you can win free plastic surgery in thailand. I don't really know how it works but I can ask them tomorrow if you like or you could just google on destinationbeauty.com or something.

Anyway here is more to the story:

After one week, i went back to Yanhee hospital to have the stitches removed and to learn how to make the breast massage properly.

Just so you know - breast massage 1 week after surgery - is not romantic in any way.

I was told that the massage is made to keep the pocket, where the surgeon put the implant, wide so that the implant can move naturallly within it. And therefor you have to move the implant around to keep the pocket the same size the surgeon made it as the surgery. So up and down and inwards and outwards.

And that hurt a lot the first time. The stiches were piece of cake compared to the breast massage. Dr.Greechart told me i HAVE TO DO IT, even if it hurts, otherwise the implants will not look or feel natural and they will not follow the movement of the body naturally. It also helps preventing complications like capsular contraction, which is when the body decides to make so much scar tissue around the implant that it will make the implant hard and it hurts a lot too.

Now three weeks after the surgery, I am so happy i have continued with that massage although it was terrible the first few times... Other than that I feel fine. All i miss is to be able to life up my 3,5 yearold girl sometimes but I just have to wait a few more weeks to do that.

Comehome - You are visiting the hospital each week for the massage? For how many weeks is this recommended?

This could be a problem for wife, as we are quite a distance away from BKK.

I am supposed to visit the hospital 1 time a week for three weeks so they can check that all is ok, but i have not been there every time because i have been busy working.

Will go there just to check everything is ok next week or the next i think.

It cant be so very important because the foreigners who only come to thailand for surgery usually go back to their country after 10 days or so depending on what procedure they have.

I think they only schedule the "once a week appointment for three weeks" for those living in Bkk or nearby.

Take care!

I met a girl in my travels two years ago who had breast surgery at Yanhee. She stayed after her surgery for 3 weeks before flying back to Australia. You are required to do the massage at home as well but I believe you need to stay to get the checkups just encase there are any complications. Better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, I do the massage at home every day.

Dr.Greechart showed me how it feels IF there should be capsulare contraction when i was there the last time.

He said that IF I am not able to move the implant freely in the pocket, it might be a capsular contration.

He showed me by putting his hand on the upper side of the implant (closest to my head) and then he tried to press up the implant from under but it wouldn't move at all. He said "If this happens, you have capsular contration".

He also said it should be visible how the implant moves and I am going to try to move it as close as possible to the "key bone",( the bone that goes from the neck towards the shoulder on the front side of the body. Sorry, my medical englishis not so well.)

All to keep the pocket wide so the implant will follow the body and look´natural.

I also want to say that i never had the "tennis-ball-look" on the upper side, I asked for the "slope-look" and had the "slope" all the way from day 1. Sure I was swollen at first but it was never the "tennis-ball -look".

Have a good Valentines day now and take care!

Hi guys, Im interested in getting breast augmentation in Bangkok and am thinking of going to yanhee. I have been in contact with them and they have mentioned a surgeon named Dr Sanit, i was wondering if anyone has had or heard about surgery involving him? Thanks :)

Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) and it is not confined to France as they were one of the largest makers in the world. According to that report over 40,000 persons in UK alone have them.

The silicone inside the implants is not medical grade - but was intended for use in mattresses

The wife had her augmentation done at Yanhee, but she hasnt got a scooby-doo what type they were.

I suppose I might have to get her to pay a re-visit.

Yes I had breast augmentation done at Yanhee in late 2006 and this has me wondering as well... I have no ideal which brand :( Think I need to contact them and find out... though after 5 years I think they must be pretty safe from rupture...

Hello,

I am an employee in the International Department of Yanhee Hospital and I wanted to let everyone know that PIP Implants were NEVER used in this hospital. Patients should not worry. When PIP presented their product to Yanhee years ago the doctors saw it was an inferior product and refused to use their implants. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding implants or other procedures we offer.
