Police: Dozens injured when cab slams into San Diego crowd

2011-02-12 22:35:40 GMT+7 (ICT)

SAN DIEGO (BNO NEWS) -- More than 20 people were injured on early Saturday morning when a cab slammed into a crowd in San Diego, police said.

A police spokesman said 25 people were injured when a cab driver possibly fell asleep and drove his car into a crowd in the Gaslamp area of San Diego. He said a 20-year-old woman suffered a severed lower leg.

After the accident, an angry crowd attacked the cab driver who suffered a broken nose as a result. He was later taken into custody although alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.

(More to come.)
