February 15, 201115 yr Does anyone have factual information and/or experience on getting a Thai Drivers License if you DO NOT have a valid International License and DO NOT have a license from home country? Reading various websites the need for an existing license seems to include 'if available' or 'if you have one'. I've been here for years on non-immigrant marriage visa and let my license at home lapse. thanks
February 15, 201115 yr No problem, you just have to take the test. With licence, no test. and both the theoretical and practical tests are very easy. all you need for theory you learn in a video before test, in addition to roadmarks and signs according to poster driving is done on a closed field, takes 5 minutes
February 15, 201115 yr Very easy. Takes about 4 hours to do everything though. Go to the numerous departments. Get sent to the local clinic for your health check-up. Confirm the colour of the pen in the doctor's hand is red. Be given your health certificate from the doctor. Watch the mind-numbing video. Do the computer test as practice. Do the computer test for real. Do the awareness test (imagine that most locals fail this). Drive around for a few minutes. Get your picture taken. Pay the 155b Done.

Helps to rent their car for the test
February 15, 201115 yr Author thanks, seems like being responsible for once is fairly easy... albeit time consuming...
