Hello!

I am thinking about taking a trip down to the islands in the Trang Province in a few weeks, probably staying on Koh Ngai (or Koh Mook). Has anyone been there lately and do you have any advice on hotels, best beaches/island, snorkeling trips and prices?

I would like to stay in a decent aircon room, and trying not to spend too much money.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If you'll pm your email address to me....

I'll make sure that the Trung Governor's office will point you to the most accommodating agency for your pleasures.... alright?

Thx for choosing Trung as you destination.

In behalf of the governor's office, we all welcome you and yours any time of the year....:jap:

I was in Trang last year

If you are flying down you might like to consider a night here, Thumrin Hotel 600bht a night with a free bus from the airport (saving 100bht per person)

I went to Sinhais resort in Hat Yeo, which had the most perfect beach ever, hidden around the corner of the cliff at low tide

I discovered these places after reading this blog

Trang has many agents selling trips, transfers and island accommodation

Thanks!! Yes, Tezza's blog is great. I've followed him for years. That beach looks great! Just what I want for a week or two of R&R!

Thanks! That blog is very good. PjClark - what a beautiful photo!

I think I have settled on Koh Ngai. I plan on snorkeling, exploring other islands/beaches and possibly seeing the Emerald cave, although it seems a little touristy.

Ko Ngai, Ko Mook and Ko Kradan are all lovely. I have stayed in Ko Mook before where you can get a range of accommodation from 500 -1500 depending on AC etc. The emerald cave is amazing - but youre right it does get swamped with tourists depending on the time of year...when i visited I hired a kayak and paddled there early morning...had the place to ourselves...but as we were leaving, around 9am ish, it was filling up with tourists and totally changed the atmosphere. Not sure if you can Kayak there from an island other than Ko Mook, as the distance may be too great, but its definitely worth hiring an early morning long tail....
