After 15 years away from LOS, the wife is into fusion. She calls tonight's dinner laap gai yang - BBQ'd and sliced, not diced like the traditional approach. Hope the attached photo comes through.

Throw it between a couple of Burger Buns with some Burger relish and proper American Burger Mustard, not that disgusting English Coleman's stuff ;)

I thought this thread was gonna be about your wife Building herself a Thai Kitchen :D

I dont want to talk about FUSION at this time :D

Sunny, I wish we could be talking about Fusion.

Fusion is the opposite of Fission, or so I'm led to believe. (even in Bahnhoffs wifes Kitchen) , It is relatively safe.

but apparently , currently unsustainable :(

Quiet on here the last few days :)

Yes Jubby Im as quiet as everyone else due to Japan and looking out for what is going to happen next. The early rain has kept me indoors for a change so nothing to report on. I expect we will get some Nuclear fall out soon. When Chernobyl went us years ago , the radiation hit the UK and many sheep in Wales had to be destroyed due to high levels of poisoning. What happened to the people in and around at that time is anyone's guess. If the levels are 400 time the safe limit or higher and the wind blows in our direction , maybe we will all be affected even here in CR. Time will tell.

Now I am going to go out and eat some Nam Tok Moo as thats what the picture looks like to me , yum. :D

Please forgive me for getting back on topic.

Gai Yang - roasted or grilled chicken.

Larb - maybe someone else knows what this means. In Bangkok we say Yaam for salad which is what it looks like.

Good luck.

Seeing as it is not minced as with Larb, it does look more like a Nam Tok or perhaps a Yaam.

Getting back off topic, perhaps the silence has something to do with all the red ink lately. ;)

Wife isn't a good cook, plus now she's gone (not only for that reason).

However, I make a decent salad. cucumber, hard boiled egg, yellow sweet pepper, with olives and raisins. Dressing is olive oil and a dash of Kikoman soi sauce (the only soy sauce without MSG).

That's it, with few variations.

When I try eating just about anything at a Thai restaurant, I wind up feeling ugh - probably MSG, but could be other ingredients that don't suit me well.

"Strawberries on toast..." was what I said, which made the wife-chef scowl with disapproval.

She responded, "Fresh strawberries, pinch of salt, tea spoon of honey, table spoon of spiced rum mixed in bowl then placed on briefly grilled slice of pound cake with dash of Grand Marinier and freshly whipped cream on top."

Good news is it was wicked tasty and better news wife is not pregnant.
