I got myself a nice bowl of Corn Flakes for breakfast this morning. As I was about to tuck in the phone rang. I took the call and returned 10 minutes later to eat my breakfast and found the corn flakes had gone soggy. Not too much of a problem but I have got to say that I prefer mine crunchy with the cold milk.

How about you lot ?

:o Yuck!

But I agree- gotta be crispy!

Used to love cornflakes with fresh cream when I was a kid... the thick cream took longer to make the cornflakes soggy.

Well, being only an occasional consumer of cereal blended with milk, I'm not sure that I am actually qualified to pass comment.

Mr Totster, do you consume cereal on a regular basis? If you do not consume cereal on at least one occasion everyday, then I don't see how your opinion that crunchy is best is relevant. I think it is best left to native cereal eaters to tell us what is best, crunchy or soggy.

Although not a cereal eater from a young age, I have studied native cereal eaters extensively. In fact some long term cereal eaters have been very impressed with my knowledge of this subject and have held me up as an example to others who have eaten cereal all their life!

You are obviously one of those frivolous cereal eaters that just Gob it down as quickly as possible without pondering the exquisite variations of texture as the cereal absorbs the milk.

By taking the time to ponder the wonderousness of the variations as it gradually turns from Crunchy thru crispy, soggy then mush, you are obviously lacking to fulfill the true destiny of the cereal.

I suggest that until you have experienced the full potential of the breakfast cereal, you refrain from starting such ridiculous threads.

I imagine that you most likely believe that cereal should only be enjoyed at breakfast time. Well news for you Mister Titster, the delights of cerael can be embraced at any time of the day. It is only narrow minded people who think only to eat cereal at breakfast.

Please crawl back under your rock and leave the comments on cereal eating to those who have studied it properly and know what they are talking about :D

I don't usually bother with breakfast but when I bother with cereal It's got to be crunchy with ice cold milk and a glass of fresh orange juice. I used to also eat my cereal with cream when I was younger.

But it has to be said the best breakfast is pancakes with icecream. Yummy.

Second best is of course strawberry poptarts also with icecream.

When I was about 8 years old I liked my ice cream soggy....I would take a dish of vanilla ice cream and put Hershey's chocolate syrup all over it and then stir it until it was soft and a bit like a milk shake...then eat it...soggy ice cream.

Well, I am a simple guy with simple easy likes.

I pre chill my milk in the freezer, put the corines in the bowl. I also pre chill a banana and slice that onto the cornies. Then pour the ice cold milk on, then smother the top with thickened cream so you cannot see a single cornie and lightly sprinkle sugar or pour honey over it.

Then the challenge is to wolf it down before it either warms up or the cornies go soggy.

Simple really.

Icecream tastes great whatever you eat it with.

:o:D Where are you staying, Tots? I need to get a new passport in bkk, so I could time it with your trip, if you're staying there. Of course, if you're coming to Phuket it would be even easier :D . PM some details and we'll see if we can get together. :D

what is this topic!! if you live in Thailand, you should do as tha Thais do!! I always read posters saying just that, so scrap your over-priced imported packet of Kellogs nonsense and go out and get yourself a great bowl of noodles

mind you, there is an Aussie outfit in CM that makes great muesli :o
