I've read that under the new Work Permit rules as of May 2002 that we may be able to get a visiting software developer a workpermit as a consultant.

http://www.thaivisa.com/518.0.html

We're a small software and design company in Bangkok - captialised at 2 million baht with myself as MD (farang - one wprk permit already) and 6 Thai employees.

Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer in this respect? According the notes I've read all that is required is a signed consultancy agreement between the two parties (with company seals - along with proof of qualifications).

"The work in investment consulting, administrative consulting, technical and technology, or periodical internal audit. Supported Document: Consulting contract with both parties' official seals. "

Any tips, suggestions, or even offers of services available would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Tony

Could be hard. Go the normal way and upgrade the shre capital to 4,000,000 Baht and employ a few more Thais.

Are you married to a Thai? In that case it's much easier.
