does it have an Elan smart-pad?

I bought an Asus last, within weeks the touchpad was playing up - wandering cursor syndrome even when using a mouse - took it back and the vendor said 'yes, they are not very good'.

Repaired or replaced, a month later same again, I disabled it.

Google and you'll find the problems with Elan smart-pads have been very common.
