Car Battery Charger

Featured Replies

I bought a charger for my car battery at Lotus. Did not work.

Got my money back without any problem.

Does anyone know where to buy a good battery charger in Chiang Mai ?

My advice would be that if you have a battery which needs charging by another source than the car alternator, it is on the way out.

Replace the battery and spend the money on that. Car batteries in a tropical environment have an average lifespan of 2-3 years.

Are you sure your alternator does what it is supposed to do? No lights in the boot which stay on?

No lights nothing moves everything completely dead.

I did not see them at Global.

Seems like I'm wasting my time, better shop for new bat indeed.

As mentioned, unless you are really lucky, some are, 2 years is the norm, even from a factory equipped unit. If you can, we have talked about Boliden dry cell battery to be the best and last a lot longer. :)

PS. just to check, put a volt meter across the battery with engine off for a reading then start her up, the reading should go from around 12.5 up to 13.5/14 volts when started. This is to check that the alternator is functioning, not the batteries amp power.
