Also any good idea's on Bar's/Food Farang/Thai not to bothered. First time there so a bit green on the place. Anything that will help IE transport have car but dont wan't to use it in town. Would be greatly appreciated. Many thank's in advance.

Piyaporn Place has secured parking for your car, within short walking distance to the shopping area. Motorcycle taxis, buses and Tuk Tuks available EVERYWHERE if you get overloaded with packages. If the main street hotel is full, they have another, larger one behind that a few blocks. Just ask. You can do an Internet search for the phone number. In the neighborhood of 1,500 baht this time of year, I think. Maybe cheaper.

Haven't been impressed with Farang food anywhere in Mae Sai so don't know what to advise about that. We always stick with the local fare because of the lack of decent choices in the other category.

I can vouch for the Hotel Kandahar put me on to it.

The Hotel does very good food too, at a reasonable price.

I put a couple fellas from the Starbright Hotel on to it and used the hotel.

One commented on the food plus, the cheapest beer he had in Thailand.

Enjoy the place as we did.:jap:

rap web site.

The Mae Sai Guest House is as close to the border as you can get. A couple of the bungalows hang out over the Mae Sai River. And it is close to the market area as well.

Just got back from Mai Sai. Update on Piyaporn Place Hotel. Their direct phone no: is 053734511-3 800bt a night including Brekky. Food for same ok/good they cater for Thai's, so tend's be to their taste's, but still plenty to eat for the Farang. Room very nice. 6' bed like baby bear's one just right. "Bath" room all that is required including a phone, water alway's very hot. Light's can be sorted from the side of the bed.

The hole place was very clean. Staff, everyone that I had dealing's with several including the car park peep's, were very, very, polite. Constructive criticism, They could do with some ware outside at the back maybe, to sit and have the odd beer or coffee. Other than that all was great. A BIG BIG thank you to Kandahar, for putting me on to it. Will I stay again, you bet. Looked at several other hotel's while there, Seem's they are geared for back packer's. Not in the same league. Once again Thank's. I owe you a beer.
