Duration of Stay

• The average length of stay for all visitors from Thailand was 38 nights, ranging from 145 nights for

education travellers to 10 nights for visitors who came for business.

• The average length of stay increased by 2 nights in 2004 to 38 nights, higher than the average of 27 nights

for all international visitors.

• However, the Tourism Forecasting Committee expects the average length of stay for Thai visitors to

decrease at an annual average rate of -1.6 per cent until 2014.

Holiday 12 Average / 6 Median

Visiting friends and relatives 26 Average / 12 Median

Base: All visitors aged 15 years and over.

(a) Median nights represents the duration of stay for which 50 per cent of visitors stay less time and 50 per cent stay longer. The average number of nights is generally higher than the median because of the influence of a small number of visitors who stay for long periods.

<snip> • The average length of stay for all visitors from Thailand was 38 nights.... higher than the average of 27 nights

Is this directly proportional to the time it takes to get a visa processed ?

Once again Visa processing, so they expect to decline more Visa's :o

Interesting information..

Anyone have any statistics on the number of Visas that are applied for and how many are accepted or rejected?

The other interesting one would be what % of Visas issued, have the Visa conditions broken i.e. overstays...

So much of the evidence required seems to be pointing at the links the applicant has to Thailand, inferring that one of the main worries is about the motivation of the applicant to return...

It would be interesting to see if the statistics support this..

Thats my 2 bobs worth..
