Ok, next Wednesday is the big day for us and I'm starting to brick it.

In our folder I have:

Cover letters from both of us. (not too long, just a brief history)

O's Passport, ID Card, Birth Certificate (translation to come), a letter from her last employment and her bank book

A copy of my passport, birth certificate. letter from brother and Parents both declaring support and accomodation (inc. util bills and bank statements)

Letter from Landlord declaring we lived here together for the last 7 months

Photos of us together, SMS messages (32 pages) of when I was back in Feb and just general ones. Also the documents for the moped and jeep we own.

Right, Have I missed anything major? or Minor?

Is this enough? Am I right to panic?

Cheers Guys

I have no idea whether or not your file is complete....

I just noticed this thread, and wanted to wish you Chok Dii, and also to remember... Maktub.

All the best,

From a large pink elephant and a funny looking clown.

Thanks Kayo,

Support is what this forum is all about, and I'll accept that with the same appreciation as help with the folder itself.

So thank you.

hi Mak,

All the best next week buddy. I was also bricking it but as you know, Mrs Bojangles got hers last week and is already in the UK with me. Easy to say i know but try to stay calm, for Mrs Mak. She's the one going in for the interview, so stay calm for her. :o

As for your folder, i might have missed it but i can't see where you mention about including information about your personal financial circumstances. I.e. have you got a job to go back to, any savings etc to show how you can provide for her. Apart from that, i think you've got it covered. Best of luck.

On the surface I'm all calm and telling her, 'yeah no worries hunny'. Inside I'm bricking it.

Your right, forgot to mention, I have my bank statements (showing not a lot of money any more) but I don't have a job to go back to, I mention in my cover letter that I do have a 2:1 degree and 7 years experience in a career with many job offers. I just need to be back there for interviews, also 2 letters from contracting clients for references. Also I forgot to mention that the wife is pregnant which is also mentioned in cover note.

Thanks for the support Mr.Bo, hope Mrs. Bo is adjusting ok?

You'll be fine Mak, i would think that the fact she is pregnant, can only strngthen your case.

As for Mrs Boj, she's settling in great thanks. The cheap calls to Thailand really help, it must have been hard for those coming here years ago and not being able to ring home very often due to expensive telephone charges. It's just this ruddy English weather she's finding hard, spent a small fortune this week on winter clothes for her. :D

I bet you have Mr.Bo, and I have that to come :o

A slight problem here as my parents and brother have both sent the documents to me (bank statements etc) and they have not arrived yet. Now we are living on Samui and leaving for Bangkok on Monday, little worried, all was sent registered. How long is it normally? Been about 5 working days now.

One more question, sorry guys.

O's auntie lives in the UK. Has done for 2-3 years. Is this worth mentioning at the interview? Would it help, harm or just trival?

As always, cheers

Don't mention it unless asked. Once a picture of family migration begins to emerge, the visa officer may start getting a bit twitchy.

Scouse.

Cheers Scouse, glad you said that as I was thinking it would add (someone she knows and can talk to).

Ok, I'll tell the missus, just hope my documents arrive on Monday or I do have problems.

Mak, Just in case, can you get copies faxed to you? If you enclose a note to explain why you are presenting faxed copies rathet than originals, with proof of posting maybe, then I am sure the ECO will be sympathetic.

Best of luck.

I do not want to worry you but have you any sort of medical cover for your wife?As they(embassy) do not want to think you are going to use the NHS for the birth. Even if its a leaflet you get then you say "I have not decided what policy yet to take" Hope this has not worried you I'm just helping, as we where in the same position last year.

All the best and good luck!

Use of the NHS is not banned for the holders of spouse visas. In fact, registering with a local GP should be one of the first things you do when she arrives.

Cheers GU22, I have had most emailed to me now, but Birth crtificate was in the package. Not sure they can go and get another copy and fax now before Wednesday. Is this really required?

So glad you said that as I was starting to worry. Yeah a doctor is first on the list, as well as a scan at the hospital (it's around that time I think) but maybe the doctor will inforce that anyway.

To be honest, I'm not sure. The Guidance Notes say that it is. However, I think that the main reason for requiring it is to prove your identity and show that you are a British citizen and have the right of abode in the UK, and your passport shows that.

If it doesn't come in time, enclose a note in the application explaining why you do not have it.

Cheers GU22, I thought it was like that but then like you say, my passport does that, so why the need ?? :o Anyway, I'll take your advice and add to my cover letter the problems I have had with post and what is missing/added via email or fax.

Cheers, I can't wait for Wednesday morning to come and go, just wished I didn't stop smoking now !!! Should of waited til after :D

Just a point about Birth certificate if it doesn't turn up before Wednesday - registry offices can do a same day service for birth certificates so you could get someone yo get you a new one if needed before Wednesday for a fax - just if you wanted to cross all the T's!

But then maybe you don't have copies of everyting sent!

Good Luck

Cheers Caledonia, It's just a little difficult for family back home to get the copy with work and stuff. I have requested, just hope they can make it.

Everything else is fine, all sent via email.
