Accident Crash Claims Life of Student in Motorcycle Crash
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A student from a well-known secondary school in Khlong Luang district lost her life on the morning of 10 July, following a motorcycle crash in Pathum Thani province. The incident occurred at approximately 10:00 along the Bangkhan-Nong Suea Road in Khlong Sam subdistrict. Police Lieutenant Teerayut Phanphong, an investigator from Khlong Luang Police Station, responded to the scene alongside traffic officers, forensic doctors from Thammasat University Hospital, and personnel from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation. Emergency responders discovered the body of Miss Sukanya aged 17, lying lifeless beside a roadside electricity pole. Nearby, her overturned grey Honda PCX 160cc motorcycle, registered in Bangkok, was found on the pavement. A helmet was found beside the wreckage. According to a security guard stationed nearby, a loud crash was heard moments before he rushed to the scene. “By the time I got there, she took one last breath and passed away,” he recalled. Authorities were immediately notified. Shortly afterwards, the girl’s aunt arrived at the scene and broke down in tears upon seeing her niece’s body. Rescue workers had to step in to support her. Lt. Teerayut conducted an initial examination of the scene and documented the evidence before ordering the body to be transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department at Thammasat University Hospital for further investigation. Police are continuing to look into the exact cause of the crash. Initial reports suggest the motorcyclist lost control and struck the pavement, throwing the rider violently into the utility pole. No other vehicle was at the scene, as police review CCTV to confirm any other vehicle was involved. Adapted by Asean Now from Khoasod 2025-07-11 -
