I do have a huge problem with a clear reception on my tv when i plug in to home cable

other cable required?

I am lost in electronics so any suggestion which resolved this snow problem is welcome.

I think you'll need either a filter and / or a signal amplifier..also isolating the cable from other signal sources might help.

When the tech hooked up my cable to my TV he told me that the cheap white coax cable I bought from Lotus was no good and gave me a thick black coax that made a huge difference in reception.

Poor quality coax cables will give you a poor standing wave ratio, which will clutter the signal.

The coax should be marked RG-6 , can be white or black. It has a layer of foil over the dielectric for better shielding.
