Trip To India & Nepal

Featured Replies

My partner and I are planning a visit to India, specifically New Delhi and Agra, and then a few days in Nepal. Our planned itinerary is Bangkok to Delhi, probably with Air Asia, visit the Indian sites before flying to Kathmandu, then back to Delhi before returning to Bangkok.

I had intended to get a multiple entry visa for India but have noticed that you cannot re-enter for 60 days, another option would possibly be a multiple entry and a transit visa, but transit visa have to be applied for a couple of weeks before the actual transit date.

I suppose the best option would probably be a Thai flight into New Delhi and returning from Kathmandu, but that might be considerably more expensive. Has anybody got experience of Indian visa regulations, or indeed made such a trip?

Thanks

It is possible to get an exemption to the two month outside India rule if you have a planned itinerary that you can show the appropriate official in advance. The dual visa option (i.e. tourist and transit) is probably a no-go, they won't issue a second visa until your first visa has expired for two months. I'm PM'ing you a link for where you can get more information...
