Hi there! I need some help.

I have a Non Immigration B Visa (Single Entry) right now which I got from the Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. This visa was requested by my previous employer including all documentation. However, I have decided to resign from the job.

I have a new employer which I am about to start working for. They have agreed to hire me on a probation period of 3 months before processing my work permit.

My Non Immigration B Visa will expire at the end of October. My new employer has agreed to facilitate my documentation for a new Non Immigration B Visa and they are willing to fly me back to Kuala Lumpur to get another one that will be okay for the next 3 months until they process my work permit.

My questions are:

- Am I doing the right thing?

- Should I just let my Non Immigration B Visa expire and then fly back to KL to apply for another Non B Visa?

- I am not sure if the Thai Embassy in KL will ask how come I don't have a work permit since they issued me already a Non B Visa months ago. Should I tell them that my employment there did not push through and I am now being hired by a new employer? I think being honest here is fine as I had no difficulties applying in the Thai Embassy in KL, they were very nice and kind and not strict in documentation as well.

- Is there a way here in Bangkok that I can just extend my Non B Visa into another 3 months without having to fly back and apply again in KL?

- If I should go to KL to apply again, what are the possibilities of having a Multiple Entry Non B Visa? My job will require me to travel around Asia for business within the next 3 months of which I am sure the work permit would not have been processed yet.

I hope I have made my situation clear. I am an Asian Foreigner and not a westerner so I think there might be some prejudice for Immigration Officials for young executives like me.

Kindly advise me the best options.

Thank you and will appreciate your kind comments.

Cheers!

If you have resigned from your job where you held a visa and w/permit - they are now both null and void. You cannot transfer a visa or w/permit to ay new position. Be careful leaving and trying to re-enter Thialand as you may now be illegal.

He is here on a 90 day entry and that is still valid. He is not illegal in any way (if I have read his post right). But he will be illegal if he starts working without a work permit.

You need a new visa and your new company is giving you the required documentation so you should make that trip and hope for the best. It is a new job so it should not be a problem. Honesty should work.

There is no way to extend without a work permit so you will need a new visa. A multi entry is not likely and I would not mention doing any traveling/work without a work permit.

Thank you guys for the feedback.

The truth is that I resigned from the previous job even before they got me a work permit. So should I just tell the embassy that the employment did not push through. And just tell them that there's a new employer who wants to hire me so I am doing a new documentation and all. I guess honesty should work. And yup, maybe I will stick with the single entry at least to tell them that I am not working right away until the w permit has been processed.

What do you think?

thanks
