We are thinking about adopting a Thai child. I am a US citizen and my wife is Thai. If we go through all the legal hoops to adopt a Thai child, can I then get a US passport for that child?

From a brief read of immigration site do not believe adoption alone would provide a US passport but if a legal adoption it appears you can file from overseas for a certificate of citizenship which could lead to passport.
