Creatures That Lurk In Pools

Featured Replies

Just went again to swim and make sure. It seems there is a clear centepede like creature who likes to take a swim in the moo bann swimming pool!! He is quite long in body and has two longer legs at the back - any ideas if friend or foe?? rolleyes.gif

Very painful bites and stings, some Thais claim they can kill you, I doubt them but wouldn't want to test it out.

Oh yuck! Don't you have a pool service?

From what I've read it's possible but pretty rare. Seems likely you could go into shock from the pain and then drown though. Assuming it really is a centipede of course.

I've hated them ever since a very small one bit me once...

Sounds like you need a whale, cosmicwoman.

Well there ARE some critters that live naturally in pools... And they won't hurt you if you don't hurt them.

They are called hellgramites.
