Toothbrushes

Featured Replies

It seems to quote Watsons or Boots that its impossible in Thailand to buy a hard toothbrush. The nearest you can get is Medium or Medium soft whatever that is. Any one know different??

I order my toothbrushes - Curaden, a Swiss brand - from Australia. They are the best toothbrushes made. I discovered them when I lived in Europe and a Dental Hygienist supplied them to me . They last a good 6-8 months. You can select how soft or hard you like. Curaden http://www.curaden.com.au/

Yes, I buy mine from the USA.

If you just like hard though, some of the cheapo Big C toothbrushes are hard as nails.

A hard toothbrush is good for household cleaning but don't put it in your mouth.

Yup, I've looked all over for a hard toothbrush and finally decided I just had to go with what the dentists recommend in all countries where I've seen a dentist -- a good soft toothbrush that is replaced monthly. I do cheat and get a medium toothbrush, but I find that if I replace them monthly they work just fine.

The downsides of hard, apart from enamel abrasion if you're doing it wrong, is that the bristles down't bend as much and get into the nooks 'n crannies. Can also make a mess of gums. Also, having a brush that lasts 6 months is probably not such a good thing.

A hard toothbrush is not good for your gums and over time will do more damage than help...I would suggest anyone reading this only use soft toothbrush

Thanks to everyone for the info on hard toothbrushes - will aim to use the old one only for scrubbing the outside floors!!

Coming from a family of Dentist Hard is not always Better
