Seems like about a year or less ago there was a lot of talk about a new shopping mall to be built. I believe it was on one of the ring roads not sure. It was to have ample parking and parks with no building over three stories high. It was also going to have a new movie theater.

Has any one got any information on this project?

Basically there are three BIG shopping malls (that are not stupid local "community" malls) to be built in Chiang Mai this year:

- Promenada Chiang Mai

- Central Festival Chiang Mai

- SF Cinema City Nimmanhaemin (right where Amari Rincome Hotel is)

And we'll see which one actually get completed, succeeds, and failed. Hate to see another KSG. But we def. need something bigger than robinson.

Well, I see Promenada to be the most successful then Central Festival. People will immediately stop going to Central Airport Plaza (Robinson).

And whatever it is in Nimman as long as it's not another coffee shop, local designer boutique, or a spa place then it will be fine.
