wandrinstar Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Anymore than 30% light reduction is bloody dangerous ,but go ahead, kill others just for Looks. Rolls dont use Tint Film , its Pilkingtons or Triplex Sundym Type Polychromeatic, bit like Reactalite Rapide sun glasses. Somewhat agree but if you're speaking about the windscreen I think no percentage is good but if the sides then 40% is no problem but any more is dangerous.. Part of defensive driving is being able to read the drivers body language by seeing the head movements etc. obviously can't do that and additionally they need to be able to see out clearly and they can't do that either during the daytime, let alone night time.. Thanks for the info! I've also heard stories that colour can make a big difference like green or blue, does anyone have any comments on that? If I recall wasn't it the Mercs that had green tinted windows, was it just a gimmick or was it founded? 40 years ago My 280. S.E. 3.5 had a Green Sun Band but it was in the glass. I aggre with Chris. Sunglasses are the safest. The Pro Filmers state Air Con / Fuel for their reasons for fitting it. Cuts no ice with me. Its like Harley riders saying Noise makes others aware. Just have the <deleted> to admit its the Noise you love and Filmers you love the Bling.. Ive recently driven a Red Mitsu G.T. with Cold Tea shaded tints. Its a pale gold, and you can still see the white seats and wood trim from outside. I have no tints in mine ,, just Ray Bans and passengers love the clear vistas.
sotsira Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 After reading through this thread i have to say that in all my years of owning cars i never had one car that didn't come with tinted windows as standard from the factory. So if this is the case with all the posters in this thread, what you are in effectively doing is adding an additional laminated tinted film to your already tinted windows that came from the manufacturer. Each manufacturer would have their own level % of tint depending on make , model etc. So depending on this manufacturer's level %, that would then determine what additional level % would be required, so it's a case of knowing the level of tint you car has to start with before determining what additional level is required.
vpi78 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 The darker tints also serve to make it harder for BiB to ticket the Farang for DWW in Thailand Driving While White fees like many BiB fees increase towards the end of each month.
