Big C is going downhill fast.

Yes they cater to a certain class of shopper who wants low prices. And Big C is doing it's best to reduce choice.

I would only shop them as a last resort. Love you Villa Market TOPS & Foodland. TESCO is the same bottom of the barrel idea just bigger & more of it.

So yes the exit of Carrefour is a great loss and Big C xtra a similar dissapointment for the farang community, which counts for a big part of the Pattaya population,so lets hope Big C reads this topic and sees the light at the end of the farang tunnel..

I see... So how big do you think the "farang community, which counts for a big part of the Pattaya population" is in percentage to the overall population in Pattaya?

I also understand your plight... I get rather tired of Thai food myself. :jap:

I've found 7-11 can also be a good source of some ready to eat meals that aren't expensive. Have you considered learning to cook or hire a cook (a neighbor or friend)? Somebody must be helping you to raise your 7yr old.

I've learned to prepare my own food. Unfortunately the Thais around the house liked it too. But fortunately, they have learned how to prepare my food as well. ;)

If I recall the management of Carrefour put it up for sale because they found it "too difficult to operate in Thailand". Which seems to indicate that the farang market was not big enough to support their business model. Thus you aren't going to see it change anytime soon. It took years for CarreFour to appear in Pattaya. :ermm:

Don't forget Friendship Market in your love. ;)

Some foreigners also like Makro.

That's a pretty drastic suggestion to someone who laments the departure of a supermarket they liked - "have you considered learning to cook". It's even more drastic suggesting the 7-11 ready made offerings are food.

You're probably right about Carrefour not having enough foreign (I don't think "Farang" is appropriate here) support for their business model, but I doubt such was the case for the Pattaya store.

I don't think it's a case of "Big C going downhill fast". It's more that the old Carrefour is gradually morphing into a Big-C as old Carrefour stock is not being replaced.

That, you just made up from your imagination.

Sorry you hate BCX, but please confine yourself to facts rather than nonsense. All of your major assertions have already been refuted.

And BCX is already doing good business anyway.

Going by the way you post about BCX, apologizing for and protecting them against every single complaint that has been mentioned here, I'd swear you must have shares in the company. You've even gone as far as suggesting legal action should be taken in some cases.

Get over it. They were genuine replies to some pretty silly suggestions, and that's putting it mildly.

So you've now become a pseudo moderator? You can put that red flag away. If my posts are considered troll posts, which they most definitely are not, a real moderator will sort it out. If you cannot wait for a moderator to read my post, then just use the report button and explain why my post is against forum rules.
