Just thinking about reducing the attractiveness of our roof space to rodents in particular and considering placing one or maybe two power outlets up there for those sonic units that are supposed to keep pests at bay. Anyone have experience as to whether they work and if so a specific recommendation?

Save your money, the only thing they do is make profit for the manufacturer / supplier.
